  35. Except you are not /just/ updating the applications in 0.19.  As you
  36. might gather I am a little concerned on how you have laid the path for
  37. the migration of current Acornet users to switch over to Messenger.

  39. Obviously Marc Sawle has gained many supporters following his recent
  40. announcement on Sunday, 27th July made in comp.sys.acorn.announce.

  42. Depite my occasional postings to the newsgroups about the work I've been
  43. doing on TTFN, people still do not know whom to address queries about
  44. TTFN - take for instance a query about the address book file I read
  45. this week (that I have not replied to yet, although Tony H did give an
  46. explanation why it occured; however it does not in any copy of 0.40).

  48. It is claimed that TTFN has been updated to 0.40, but it does not
  49. feature in the documentation that has been updated to reflect your
  50. choice to ship Messenger instead of TTFN.  In your last e-mail to me at
  51. the end of July, you wrote to say you would not be partisan and would let
  52. the end-users themselves decide which of the applications they preferred.

  57. I'll re-archive my current copy of 0.40 (last updated for the web
  58. page <http://www.arcade.demon.co.uk/ttfn.html> on August 1st) and
  59. include the update I have invited a few people to try out (find it
  60. at <http://www.arcade.demon.co.uk/ttfn/> - TTFNu040a.zip) which
  61. contains all newer !TTFN files than are in the 1st August release
  62. and give it the directory structure needed to slot into !Acornet.

  84. Just a warning to any Newsbase 0.59d users who might be switching
  85. back to 0.59c when they were to install Acornet 0.20.  One can
  86. change back, but it is necessary to edit the c00saved.users file
  87. and remove all occurances of assignments to an item called last.
